The "HYE" Association was founded by Tigran Hakobyan Hovhannisyan in Valencia, Spain. The inspiration behind it was a story about his friend who lost the ability to have children due to a car accident. The core idea was to contribute to the homeland by creating a fundamental and lasting value.
Even though Tigran maintained an active connection with Armenia and frequently provided various forms of assistance, such as clothing or household appliances to residents of border communities, he believed these efforts couldn't solve any serious problems. The fundamental solution, in his view, was to increase the human resources in Armenia.
How and where to start?
To help his childhood friend in Armenia conceive a child through in-vitro fertilization (IVF), Tigran initiated a fundraising effort among his friends. The collected money was sent to his friend, but unfortunately, doctors confirmed that intervention was impossible in this case. None of the friends wanted to take back the donated money, so they decided to sponsor another couple in need instead.
As a result, triplets were born two girls and a boy. The joy among the friends was immense, and they continued raising funds from friends living in Spain and other countries to support two more families in Armenia. Unfortunately, both attempts were unsuccessful. However, neither Tigran nor his friends gave up, and they sponsored two more couples. This time, one of them successfully conceived.
This led to the creation of the "HYE" Association with the "Hye Manuk" program. The association expanded its operations, spreading from Valencia to Armenia. A local office was established in Armenia, headed by Lilit Adibekyan. Thanks to her selfless dedication, the Armenian office of the association began to carry out large-scale activities.
Some time later, Tigran Hakobyan coincidentally met Arthur Galstyan from Los Angeles and his friend Arthur Jilavyan, who lived in Russia. He shared the story of the "HYE" Association with them. Inspired by the initiative and its mission, both Arthurs committed to sponsoring one family each.
This led to the establishment of a branch of the "HYE" Association in the USA, called "HYE North America". Thus, the association's work began in the United States under the leadership of Arthur Galstyan. Besides coordinating the American branch, Arthur personally sponsored nearly two dozen Armenian families.
After the birth of several dozen children, the "HYE" Association welcomed Dr. Gevorg Sedrakyan, an Armenian-American doctor, who became the program's primary sponsor at the time. Thanks to his contributions, the association's activities, particularly the "Hye Manuk" program, gained significant momentum.
Throughout its existence, the association has also initiated and implemented various other charitable programs, including efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, the 44-day war, and projects aimed at supporting soldiers' families.
Currently, new programs are being developed, but the core mission of the "HYE" Association remains the "Hye Manuk" program.
